TALES FROM THE LAUGHING PLACE
ISSUE 4 is dedicated to the creation and stories of Hong Kong Disneyland. Access was given to Tales from the Laughing Place a month before the opening in September 2005 to photograph the park and to meet with the creative imagineers behind the latest Magic Kingdom.
A land-by-land series takes readers through the inspirations behind Hong Kong Disneyland and provides insights to the challenges encountered in Penny’s Bay and the process of building a theme park Disney-style.
Tom Morris talks about returning Main Street back to Walt’s original; Tim Delaney discusses the challenges of creating Tomorrowland in the city of the future; Skip Lange on the largest Adventureland of all and Lori Coltrin takes us through Fantasyland. To accompany the land articles the development of merchandise and food & beverage offerings for this new resort is also covered along with the two hotels. One other timely article featured is an extensive photo-essay comparing the Halloween celebrations of Disneyland Park in Paris and Tokyo Disneyland.
